Blackboard, Wiki, And Participatory (shared) Governance

After my March 26 post I started looking up various Wiki sites. I realized that blackboard has a wiki function. Dartmouth which also uses Blackboard 7 has this function enabled.
I believe a Participatory Governance blackboard site should be set up with this function enabled. Imagine a central place for minutes and agendas. A central place for the various committees to work and distribute their projects.

All Tied Up Was...

Today we (social science) had another training session. We covered Email vs. Course Email. Also we covered how to make pictures in Blackboard 508 compliant for Visually impaired students. There were other things too but I forget now.

  1. click on the add picture icon

2. find the picture you wish to upload and write a breif description of the picture in the Alt Tex box.

Video in Web CT

I have started including videos within Web CT. I record myself using a program called Camtasia. It is very easy to use, but can be time consuming. I used to save these files and upload them to my faculty website However, I found out that students do not go to my website. So I decided to put it in front of them in Web CT. I upload myself to Google Video. After the video is processed, I click on blog button and choose embed HTML option. I copy the code in the little box and paste it as upper(lower) textblock in Web CT.
