Reading the orange county Register, I saw an article discussing the high cost of textbooks. They provided links to the
Open Courseware Consortium . I followed the link and found various Universities offer their courses to the world wide web for free. Universities participating in the United States include
M.I.T ,
Utah State University , and
U.C. Irvine. However, there are other schools around the globe which participate in this program. The best (using the relevance of their offerings compared to our offerings at Rio as a criteria) overseas programs were provided in Vietnam by the
Fulbright Economics Teaching Program.I started thinking to myself "this is a good place to find a comparable course and compare our own courses."
We could ask ourselves the following questions:
- Are our courses as easy or as difficult as these courses?
- Are our course material up to par with these schools?
